The North Hartford Food Hub connects local farmers, residents, institutions, and food businesses to improve access to fresh, locally grown food while strengthening the community food system.
About us
Our Story
At the North Hartford Food Hub, we aggregate, process, store, and distribute locally grown food for schools, markets, and community food-access programs. We purchase primarily from Connecticut farmers and small local growers, helping create reliable markets for their products. KPSP has been building this work for several years, with our farm-to-institution and food distribution efforts expanding significantly since 2024.
Meet the team
The North Hartford Food Hub is currently managed day to day by KPSP Executive Director Herb Virgo. KPSP is actively seeking additional staff to support the Hub’s operations and continued growth.
